Medicaid Expansion Team Connects With Jackson County Voters
Earlier this year, the Jackson County Democratic Committee voted to officially endorse the signature gathering campaign to get Medicaid expansion on the ballot in Missouri.  The team working to get the required tens of thousands of signatures was recently going door to door in the area led by volunteering doctors.

Dr. Bridget McCandless was one of several physicians going door-to-door on Tuesday. "Right now we have hardworking families who are being forced to choose between putting food on the table and getting healthcare," she said.

In addition to helping Missouri families, Dr. McCandless pointed out that expanding Medicaid is the financially responsible decision. "We're already paying for this," she said. "We're just not seeing the benefits. Our money is going to other states when it could be coming back to communities like those in the Kansas City area. That needs to change."

Every time we talk to voters like this -- frankly, respectfully, and face-to-face -- we get an incredible response. Who better to share the facts about Medicaid expansion than the doctors who work in our communities every day and see firsthand how expansion would benefit all of us?
